The University Press of Florida (UPF), located in Gainesville, is currently recruiting for the position of Chief Financial Officer/Business Manager.

This position coordinates all business department functions including accounting, order fulfillment, credit management, warehousing and shipping, planning, personnel, schedules and budgets.  In addition, the Business Manager ensures that all departmental procedures are working well, and monitors and controls the current and long-term financial position of the press so as to ensure its continued solvency. The Business Manager also coordinates the planning and development of all financial plans and budgets for the Press, monitors and controls the performance of such plans and is responsible for the accuracy and propriety of all financial records and financial statements produced by the Press.

As an Associate Director, the incumbent will work closely with the Director and the Management Team to develop long-term financial strategies, with specific responsibility for ensuring the long-term financial health of the Press.

Requirements

Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience.

Priority will be given to candidates with a business degree (accounting preferred) and experience in financial work in publishing.  Must have a detailed knowledge of business procedures, order fulfillment and warehouse management in the book publishing industry.  Must have a complete knowledge of financial management, budget development, and financial reporting practices.

Salary to be competitive and commensurate with experience.
