Brill Expands Literature and Cultural Studies Portfolio with The Dostoevsky Journal and Transcultural Studies

June 1, 2015Leiden (NL) / Boston (MA) Brill is set to publish the journals The Dostoevsky Journal and Transcultural Studies.

Brill, the international scholarly publisher, adds the journals The Dostoevsky Journal and Transcultural Studies from Charles Schlacks Publishing to its growing list of Literature and Cultural Studies. The Dostoevsky Journal: A Comparative Literature Review is an international journal promoting deconstructive readings of the works of F. M. Dostoevsky. Transcultural Studies: A Journal in Interdisciplinary Research publishes themed issues on interdisciplinary topics in the humanities, which introduce new methodologies and a transcultural point of view.

Professor Slobodanka Vladiv-Glover, Monash University, founder and chief editor of both journals, says: “Dostoevsky’s novels, journal articles and correspondence are rich sources for the study of the fabric of European literary and social discourses and still attract scholarly attention, 124 years after the author’s death. Transcultural Studies originated as a platform for the study of the transcultural philosopher, Merab Mamardashvili, through the efforts of the International Mamardashvili Research Network, established by a group of scholars from several countries, who met in Paris in 2005 on the initiative of the current editor.”

Sam Bruinsma, Brill’s Senior VP Business Development comments: “We are excited to add The Dostoevsky Journal and Transcultural Studies to our growing journal portfolio. I know that subscribers, readers, authors and editors alike will be really pleased with all the extra publishing services Brill has to offer to these wonderful journals.”

Effective immediately, Brill assumes publishing responsibilities for the journal titles. As of 1 July 2015, the titles are available via Brill’s customary distribution channels. To ensure a smooth transition of the journals, the online version will continue to be hosted on dostoevskyjournal.com and transculturalstudies.com until the end of June 2015.

The 2015 volumes of both journals will be published by Brill and, together with the back volumes, will be made available through the Brill Online Books and Journals platform. More information on the journals and pricing can be found at: brill.com/djir and brill.com/ts.
