SSP 37th Annual Meeting—Registration Now Open!

SSP invites you to join us at the 37th Annual Meeting, to be held May 27–29, 2015, at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Virginia. This year’s theme is “The New Big Picture: Connecting Diverse Perspectives.”

The Annual Meeting offers information-gathering lunches, evening receptions, and an exhibitors’ marketplace in which to discover new products and services, and this year, we’ve added new sessions just for networking.

Meeting highlights include

  • Wednesday keynote “Seriographs and Monocals: Rethinking Book Publishing in the Digital Age,” from Charles Watkinson, Associate University Librarian at the University of Michigan Libraries and Director of University of Michigan Press.
  • Thursday keynote discussion with Ken Auletta, American writer, journalist, and media critic for the New Yorker.
  • Friday Keynote from Jennifer Lawton, Chief Executive Officer, Makerbot Industries, a global leader in the desktop 3D printing industry.
  • Concurrent Sessions on Thursday and Friday, offering insightful information on topics aligned in multiple tracks: Future of Publishing, Researcher/User Needs, Technology, Business Strategy, Marketing/Product Development.
  • New for 2015! Concurrent Speed Networking Sessions. Attendees will engage in one-on-one conversations with up to 20 colleagues in five concurrent sessions. Sessions will be organized by job function and/or interest—editorial, sales/marketing, production, and management—but if you don’t like labels, a fifth “wild card” session will also be available!
  • Pre-Meeting Seminars on Wednesday, May 27 (register separately). Topics are “Publishing 101: The Business of Publishing,” “Smart Linking & Supplemental Data: Turning Funder Data Mandates into Opportunity,” “Journal Publishing–Operational Focus,” and “Implementing Next Generation ID Standards for the New Machine Age: ‘The Ties that Find.’”
  • A day-long SSP-NASIG Joint Meeting on Wednesday, May 27 (register separately). The topic of this special joint program is “Evolving Information Policies & Their Implications: A Conversation for Librarians and Publishers.”

Last year’s meeting in Boston sold out. Visit SSP’s Annual Meeting page and register today to save your place at the 37th Annual Meeting in Arlington, Virginia!
