The Scholarly Kitchen: The Future of the Big Deal: No Deal, or an Even Bigger Deal?

The “Big Deal”, package purchasing of all of a publisher’s titles, continues to dominate the journals marketplace. But is that dominance at an end? Are libraries increasingly cancelling their collections packages? Or are they moving to even bigger deals, wrapping up subscriptions with open access fees and a wide variety of workflow tools? Perspectives from librarians and publishers will be presented, asking where things are heading and what challenges are likely to arise.
