43rd Annual Meeting Now Available OnDemand!

August 18, 2021 – Mount Laurel, NJ – At our 43rd Annual Meeting in May, a vibrant community of librarians, academics, publishers, service providers, technologists, and scholarly publishing professionals from across the globe gathered to chart a new course and embrace the chaos to ignite innovation.

Without dwelling on the tumultuous events of the past year, our meeting aimed to recognize the impact that these events have pushed (and sometimes forced) innovation to meet changing demands. Our keynote speakers, Dr. Laura Helmuth (Editor in Chief, Scientific American) and Dr. Joseph M. Williams (Associate Professor of Counselor Education, University of Virginia), explored new paths that materialize if we are willing to embrace the unexpected. In addition, education sessions and industry breakouts shared new insights and strategies and highlighted the possibilities that have yet to be realized.

If you weren’t able to attend the meeting, you can purchase individual keynote, plenary, and educational sessions on-demand in the SSP OnDemand Video Content Library.

Sessions include:

“These sessions have fully searchable transcripts and are available anytime thanks to sponsors, Cadmore Media and 3Play Media. Additionally, the videos are tagged with applicable metadata for easier discovery,” said Melanie Dolechek, SSP Executive Director. “The Journals Quickstarter and Books Quickstarter pre-meeting training programs are also available on the OnDemand platform for asynchronous learning. Both programs are a great way to get new hires up-to-speed on journal and book publishing practices and there were some really excellent sessions at the Annual Meeting this year that will be helpful as scholarly publishers start planning for 2021.”

Viewers can find additional free content in the OnDemand library, or industry breakout sessions and poster sessions on YouTube.

They meet at SSP’s annual meetings, educational seminars, and regional events to hear the latest trends from respected colleagues and discuss common and mutual (and sometimes divergent) goals and viewpoints.
