Annual Meeting Discounts and Early Bird Rates Lead to Big Savings!

The Society for Scholarly Publishing’s (SSP) Annual Meeting is resuming as a fully in-person event in 2022, and with a focus on Building a More Connected Scholarly Community, there is sure to be something for everybody. That includes different registration options to fit your needs and budget—and everyone benefits from our Early Bird registration rate (all you need to do is register by April 22–easy!).

There’s no better place than Chicago to make a much-anticipated return to an in-person meeting. Organizations will want to take full advantage of SSP’s group discounts to provide access to everything the meeting (and the city) has to offer–educational sessions, posters, networking opportunities, and more–to a broad variety of staff. All speakers at this year’s meeting will be on-site, adding to the rewarding experience of a face-to-face event. Discounted rates are available for any organization sending at least three people to the meeting, and the more people you send, the more you save! The full breakdown of group discounts can be found on the registration rates page.

On top of group discounts, we offer special discounts for librarians, students, funders, and researchers who are an important part of the broad community that SSP serves. In addition to fantastic networking opportunities, the Annual Meeting provides everyone with unparalleled professional development in the area of scholarly communications and a chance for true engagement with professionals from across the spectrum of the scholarly publishing landscape.

While attending the annual meeting is undeniably a great way to establish and grow relationships across the SSP community, gathering with your team at SSP also helps to build connections within your organization. Nicola Poser of the American Mathematical Society commented “Several people from the AMS were able to attend the Annual Meeting last year and we found great value in sharing what we learned, resulting in several action items and internal initiatives. The conference was also particularly useful for one of our newest team members who joined us after several years in K-12 publishing.” That employee, Debashis Sengupta, added “The SSP Annual Meeting provided an important view of the scholarly publishing eco-system and helped me see how our publications operate within that universe of scholarly publishing.”

All of these special registration discounts are eligible for early bird rates, too!

To make Annual Meeting attendance even more affordable, we have secured a discounted hotel rate at the Sheraton Grand Chicago Riverwalk (the conference hotel). The cut-off date for reservations is May 9, 2022 and rooms are going fast, so book your room when you register!

We’re so excited to be gathering in person again for the SSP Annual Meeting and look forward to seeing old and new friends and colleagues in Chicago. For more information about the meeting, including pre-meeting sessions and main program details, visit our Annual Meeting site.
