Editage extends author services support to the WeChat ecosystem enhancing customer experience in China

January 8, 2019 – Beijing, China – BioOne – Editage authors in China can now place orders, track assignments, “Like” their favorite editors and a lot more using their favourite multi-purpose app- WeChat. Using WeChat to login to the Editage Online System, authors can now avoid the hassle of entering and re-entering passwords. The WeChat Pay feature also brings the ease of QR code payment within the all familiar WeChat ecosystem to Editage customers in China.

With China’s huge investment in R&D and a consequent surge of high-impact research papers, China’s share of articles increased from 4% of those published in 2000 to 18.6% of those published in 2016. Overtaking the US, it has emerged as a major contributor of articles in international scientific journals. Staying true to our aim to accelerate global science and human development through a combination of inspired people and great technology, these new features in our WeChat account makes EOS more accessible and enhances the relationship Editage has with its China-based clientele by providing them with quick responses on WeChat messenger.

Frank Xu, Managing Director, CACTUS China, elaborates on our vision in China:

“I am pleased to see the launch of our extended author service support through WeChat. Placing our customers at the heart of everything we do here, we are committed to become the premium research communication partner for universities, research institutions, publishers and societies in China and make their journeys more rewarding and impactful. We aim at being the most trusted author service company in China, known for our excellence in quality, integrity and innovation. To achieve this we bring global and local solutions to China and make our service offerings indispensable to our customers.”

Why WeChat?

In a country of more than 500 million monthly WeChat users where the concept of social commerce is all too familiar and WeChat is an integral part of the authors’ everyday life, collaborating with WeChat is significant. Login via WeChat is an initiative that aims to save much of the users’ time, simplifying login and thus making the Editage Online System more suitable for an already tech-savvy community.
