Open access community-driven geoscience journal accepting research from all areas of earth, planetary, and environmental sciences.
September 1, 2020 – McLean, VA – GeoScienceWorld (GSW), is pleased to announce that its community-driven geoscience journal, Lithosphere, has published its first articles. With an aim to cover research in all areas of earth, planetary, and environmental sciences. Lithosphere provides a unique publishing choice for authors in the geoscience community, achieved through an alliance between GSW and leading nonprofit societies, including: American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG); The Geological Society of America (GSA); Geological Society of London (GSL); Mineralogical Society of America (MSA); SEPM Society for Sedimentary Geology; Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG); Society of Economic Geologists (SEG).
“We are very excited to see this unique collaboration in Open Access publishing come to fruition as the first articles are being published,” said Chris Straub, GSW Interim CEO. “Our expanded scope and collective approach allow our society partners to offer their communities an Open Access publishing solution which broadens their individual reach, strengthening the service to researchers.”
Lithosphere accepts submissions for peer review that meet the following criteria:
• Scientifically rigorous and valid, with observations separated from interpretations, and conclusions supported by data
• A useful contribution, that tells us something new, and discussed in the context of existing literature
• Ethically sound and meeting all applicable research integrity standards
• Reproducible with methods, analyses and statistics (as appropriate) detailed sufficiently to be followed
