OA & BEYOND
Open Access (OA) continues to gain momentum and has become akin to a social movement for many. Although OA aligns well with a more socially-engaged information community, it continues to disrupt and change the direction of how the entire landscape of scholarly communications is evolving.
NFAIS is bringing together the perspectives of publishers, librarians, content aggregators, funders, and technology innovators and we invite you to be a part of the discussion.
Discussions will focus on a variety of timely OA issues including:
How researchers select and fund OA options.
How open access portends a thriving new era and opportunities for scholarly publishers.
How librarians have begun to address user misconceptions about copyright in an OA environment.
Which technological tools are shaping the future of what “open” might look like.
How various open access models are perceived and used by faculty.
How the scholarly record is expanding from just the research article to separate research objects–data, methods, software, source code, and narrative.
The potential effects for publishers of flipping from subscription journals to a full open access model.
Attendance is limited to 55 participants, so register now to reserve your seat! For additional information and to register, please go to www.nfais.org and look under Upcoming Events.
