It’s Time to Get Involved with SSP!

Learn about the benefits of volunteering with SSP and the opportunities available with each of our committees, happening Wednesday, June 9, at 12 pm ET. RSVP to receive meeting details!

SSP is successful because of the active participation of dedicated volunteers. Serving on a committee or task force is a great way to expand your network, gain valuable leadership skills, and increase your personal and organizational visibility within the industry.

Apply by June 23, 2021, for consideration for the 2021-2022 term. The committee chair(s) for the committee(s) you indicated you would be willing to serve will be provided with your contact information at that time. All committee appointments (one-year terms, renewable) are approved by the President. To learn more about SSP’s active committees and task forces, visit our Committees page. Log in to the SSP Member Center to review a detailed description of each committee’s charge in the SSP Organizational Guide.

We have more than 250 members that volunteer their time to support the advancement of scholarly communications by serving on committees, task forces, the Board of Directors, writing for SSP’s blog, The Scholarly Kitchen, or acting as a mentor to our Fellows and mentees. Many of the programs SSP offers were developed and are led by our enthusiastic member volunteers!

Join us for a short presentation by SSP leadership about the vital role volunteers play in society activities, followed by a lightning round of introductions from our committee chairs. Already know which committee you’d like to volunteer with? Let us know!
