Philadelphia, PA (May 28, 2019) – Delta Think (www.deltathink.com), a consulting and advisory firm focused on innovation and growth in scholarly communications, today announced the appointment of Lauren Kane as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective July 8th. In this role, Ms. Kane will lead Delta Think’s expansion as the organization increases its footprint as an expert advisor in scholarly communications and a trusted voice in the evolving dialogue on Open Access and Open Science.  She will also work directly with Delta Think clients supporting their strategic needs in this rapidly changing environment.

Recently elected as SSP’s 2019-2020 President-Elect, Lauren is an active community participant and frequent conference speaker. In addition to serving on the SSP Board of Directors, she is Vice-Chair of the ALPSP Professional Development Committee.

The Delta Think team has the expert ability to mesh their unique brand of business acumen and analytical insights with significant industry experience to develop customized, actionable programs that support individual client needs.  I’m excited to be part of such a dynamic team, and look forward to helping our clients achieve their goals.”

Ann Michael, current President and CEO of Delta Think, will assume the role of Chair of the Board. In this role, and in support of the new CEO, Ann will focus on the overall growth and strategic advancement of the organization and the continued development of the Delta Think Open Access Data & Analytics Tool (OA DAT).

“Lauren’s deep leadership skills and strategic experience with stakeholders throughout the scholarly communications industry will provide immediate value to our clients and to our team,” said Ann Michael.  “She has the exact combination of client-focus, market understanding, and practical experience that will enable her to skillfully support our customers and facilitate Delta Think’s growth. I am thrilled to have Lauren on board as such a crucial part of our team!”

Concurrent with Ms. Kane’s appointment, Delta Think will redefine its Board of Directors to better support the organization’s strategic growth. Additional Board members will be appointed and announced in the coming months.
