Online Data Harmony Users Group East (DHUGE) Promises Virtual Networking, Conversation, and World-Class Speakers October 13-15, 2021

September 28, 2021 – Access Innovations, Inc., provider of the Data Harmony suite of software solutions, announces their fall 2021 user group meeting has shifted from an in-person to an online format.

The Data Harmony Users Group East (DHUGE) will launch with a networking reception Wednesday, October 13. Two sessions of two hours each (four hours total) are scheduled Thursday, October 14, with a lengthy break in between. The schedule will be the same on Friday, October 15.

“We were really hoping for an in-person meeting, but it just doesn’t seem advisable with the Delta variant and another COVID peak expected in the U.S. in September,” explained Heather Kotula, VP of Marketing and Communications at Access Innovations. “While we miss seeing our clients and colleagues, everyone’s health and safety is paramount. On the plus side, with an online meeting we aren’t limited by physical space and social distancing requirements.”

The revised agenda includes a keynote address by Marjorie M. K. Hlava, President of Access Innovations, titled “Semantic Censorship”. This presentation will be followed by a description of recent updates to the Data Harmony software suite. On the agenda as speakers are Todd Ware, Director, Production and Electronic Publishing, American College of Physicians (ACP); Travis Hicks, Director of Web Operations, American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO); three speakers from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE); Alexa Robertson, Practising Law Institute; and Anna Jester, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, eJournal Press. Also featured is a panel discussion, “The Future of Metadata”, moderated by Barry Bealer, Chief Revenue Officer at Access Innovations.

“I’m excited to be a part of the DHUGE agenda,” Bealer said, adding “I’ve gathered a panel of really smart people to talk about the metadata management evolution from spreadsheets to augmented metadata using AI. It will be thought provoking and insightful, and of course the panelists will welcome questions from the larger audience.”

Registration for the meeting is open now and will close October 12, 2021. The agenda can be viewed on the Access Innovations website, www.accessinn.com.
