ScholarOne Manuscripts now features Ringgold’s Identify Database for institutional affiliations

December 18, 2015 – Ringgold is pleased to announce that Thomson Reuters’ premier journal and peer review platform, ScholarOne Manuscripts, has integrated the Identify Database, the authority on institutional identification. ScholarOne’s robust application will rely on the Identify Database to enforce accuracy standards for the institutional affiliations of authors, contributors, reviewers, and editors. An intuitive user interface enables users to select the correct institution from an Identify-populated search, embedding the Ringgold Identifier and Institution Name into the manuscript metadata or user profile. This feature is now active for all 6,400 journals served by ScholarOne Manuscripts, seamlessly connecting to more than 416,000 institutional records from Identify.

This integration benefits all clients of ScholarOne Manuscripts: by using the Identify Database as part of the editorial process, authors, publishers and institutions can exchange information more effectively. Ringgold Identifiers and Institution Names will be transmitted to publishers via manuscript XML exports and other ScholarOne Manuscripts features. All clients of ScholarOne Manuscripts may therefore utilize normalized institution names and the industry-leading Ringgold Identifiers to accurately denote the institutional  affiliations of individuals participating in the creation of journal content. Clients of Ringgold’s Identify Database, who also have access to robust Identify Metadata and Identify Hierarchies, will be able to analyze their editorial base to an even greater degree, and support best-in-class data quality throughout their organizations.
