SSP Hosts First New Member Orientation

Join us for an interactive orientation session to learn more about SSP and member benefits!

On January 27, 2023, we will host an orientation session for members to learn more about SSP and the benefits of membership. All members, especially those who have recently joined, are invited to learn, ask questions, and discuss with colleagues.

Over its 45-year history, SSP has grown to include a community of over a thousand individual members, in addition to nearly one hundred organizational members, across thirty countries. With the goal of serving as the go-to place for the publishing community to turn for information on current and emerging issues in scholarly communication, SSP aims to facilitate dialogue and connections for professionals representing all aspects of scholarly publishing. Members include publishers, printers, e-products developers, technical service providers, librarians, and editors. Through educational programming, online discussions, fellowships, mentorship, the flagship Annual Meeting, and more, SSP aims to advance scholarly publishing and communication, as well as the professional development of its members, through education, collaboration, and networking.

SSP membership includes many benefits, some of which are lesser known, such as access to our member directory and a subscription to Learned Publishing. Attendees of this session will have the opportunity to learn about all of the opportunities available. SSP staff will walk attendees through SSP’s mission and goals, our annual calendar of activities and events, ways to get more involved, and how to make the most of your membership. Bring any questions you have for a Q&A session, then take advantage of a breakout session where you can chat with fellow members about their experiences.
