SSP regional networking event comes to New York; Get to know your colleagues in Scholarly Publishing

The Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP)’s region event series will arrive in New York City on April 13, 2017 with an evening of networking.  The event will run from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Rockefeller University’s Abby Aldrich Dining Hall and Lounge, 1230 York Avenue, New York, NY and provide a great opportunity to meet and greet other locals working in Scholarly Communications.

Registration for the event is now open.  Not a natural networker? Not a problem! The local organizing committee will facilitate an icebreaking event to get everyone chatting.  In addition, we will be canvassing for ideas for what you may want in the next regional event.  Whether it is a workshop, panel discussion, or guest speaker on topics ranging from open access, innovation, mentorship, or digital content strategies, this will help shape our next event to be the most beneficial for the local community.

New York state is ranked third in total counts of SSP memberships with more than 100 members.  That is just a fraction of the number of publishers, product developers, digital content solution providers, librarians, and editors based in the Tri-State area.  With regional events, SSP is looking to build regional communities of scholarly communication professionals and encourage all who are interested in networking with others in the field, to register for the first ever NYC regional event.  Drink tickets will be provided for this event as well as light refreshments.
