The Society for Scholarly Publishing becomes Approved CAE Provider for Educational Programs

SSP_CAEWebIconJuly 6, 2016 – Wheatridge, CO – The Society for Scholarly Publishing is now a Certified Association Executive (CAE) Approved Provider. The CAE program, governed by the CAE Commission, an independent certifying body of ASAE, is designed to elevate professional standards, enhance individual performance, and designate association professionals who demonstrate the knowledge essential to manage an association in today’s challenging environment.

Attendees of SSP’s educational programs are now eligible to earn credits toward the CAE credential. Qualifying programs—including seminars, webinars, focus groups, Annual Meeting sessions, and some regional events—will be designated with the CAE Approved icon. Credit hours are issued in amounts equal to the length of a particular program; 1 hour of qualifying education = 1 CAE credit.

“SSP has many society and association publisher members that have or are actively seeking the CAE credential. By becoming a CAE Approved Provider, these individuals can now count attendance at SSP programs and events toward their professional development requirement,” said Melanie Dolechek, SSP Executive Director.

CAE Approved Providers have formally registered with the CAE program and committed to providing education that meets the CAE Commission’s standards for helping individuals earn or maintain the Certified Association Executive credential.

When selecting a CAE-eligible course from a CAE Approved Provider, CAEs and CAE candidates can be confident that the course will be recognized for CAE credit as advertised. The CAE program encourages candidates and CAEs to consider qualifying courses from CAE Approved Providers to meet the professional development requirements to earn or maintain the CAE credential. The CAE program is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying.
