Sponsored Session: Sheridan: The Transition From PDF to HTML…

Sponsored Session
Sponsored Session: Sheridan: The Transition From PDF to HTML: Out With The Old and In With The New

The PDF format has long been a great boon to scholarly publishing from its use in peer review and production to online delivery and the readers desktop. It was revolutionary in its ability to eliminate the overnight deliveries, film-based production, inconsistencies of PostScript file formats, and many other associated inconveniences and costs of the past. While PDFs have had a great run, is it time for another revolution? As users move toward browser and mobile-based interactivity as the norm, is HTML the future of publishing? In this session we will introduce a number of new tools and technologies that leverage HTML for authoring, submission, review, proofing, and even pagination and final delivery to readers in a printable form. Early adopters of some of these technologies will share their experience and well talk about the advantages for authors, publishers, and readers, including cost, speed, collaboration, and data collection.

Moderator: Mike Hepp, Vice President of Product Development, Sheridan
