Research in the Time of COVID: Pandemic Effects on Libraries, Science, and Publishing

Thursday, February 25, 2021 | 1:00 PM ET

The global COVID-19 pandemic has created unforeseen challenges impacting nearly every aspect of scholarly research. Reaction to the pandemic has had a catalytic effect on research and the evolution of library services and digital publishing. The Triangle regional group, part of SSP’s Community Engagement Committee, will be hosting a conversation on the immediate and long-term impacts of the pandemic on local researchers, libraries, and publishers. We will be joined for this conversation by Femi Cadmus, Director of the J. Michael Goodson Law Library at Duke University and past president of the American Association of Law Libraries. She will share impacts of COVID-19 on her library and discuss her recent blog post “The Socially Distanced Library: Staying Connected in a Pandemic.”
