Susan Spilka led Corporate Communications at Wiley for two decades during a period of tremendous company and industry change. Susan now provides provide strategic communications, public relations, business development, and research services for scholarly publishers and technology services. Susan has played a role in many pioneering initiatives, promoting Knowledge Unlatched to North American librarians, helping to build CHORUS as its Communications & Marketing Director, and contributing to programs such as Crossref, Research4Life, and PatientInform. Susan began her career in government, at the Metropolitan Transportation Authority and NYC Council President’s Office. She received her B.A. from Reed College and Certification in Digital Media Marketing from NYU.
Amy Diehl is a researcher who studies how individuals and organizations can identify and eliminate unconscious gender bias. She is a frequent speaker at conferences on workplace challenges for women and recipient of the 2016 Women and Leadership Affinity Group Outstanding Scholarship for Emerging Scholars Award. Her research has been published in Human Resource Development Quarterly, Journal of Leadership Studies and Advancing Women in Leadership, Women and Leadership in Higher Education, the International Leadership Association’s Women and Leadership book series and the Handbook of Research on Gender and Leadership. Amy earned her Ph.D. in administration and leadership from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and currently serves as the Associate Vice President & Chief Information Technology Officer at Shippensburg University.
Jessica Gedamu drives Springer Nature’s diversity and inclusion strategy as Global Director Diversity and Inclusion. Before joining Springer Nature, Jessica worked as a D&I consultant, trainer/facilitator and project leader and supported companies in various industries in change processes towards more diversity in leadership. She has in-depth knowledge and expertise in the design and implementation of programs and strategies that foster diversity, equality and inclusion; such as mitigating unconscious bias in hiring and promotion, mentoring, flexible work, diversity target setting and other inclusion practices.
