OnDemand Library

The SSP OnDemand Video Content Library is the “anywhere, anytime” source for scholarly communications professionals to learn about timely topics and recent developments in scholarly publishing. This asynchronous learning platform offers a variety of recorded video content that users can access when it’s convenient for them. Live screening events with live chats provide an opportunity to interact with presenters and others interested in the topic. Videos include full transcripts that are searchable and closed captioned. Additionally, the videos are tagged with applicable metadata for easier discovery.

To purchase access to a video or a series of videos, please select a series below to view content items and to register. Look for the “Open” icon to view free content. Journals Quick Starter Training – NEW!

The course has been designed especially for earlier- to mid-career professionals currently working in journals and hoping to gain a more rounded perspective on the journals publishing environment. It will also be useful to vendors, librarians, and book publishers who wish to enhance their understanding of journals publishing.

2020 New Directions Seminar

The 2020 SSP New Directions Seminar in Scholarly Publishing which was originally held on September 30-October 1, as an interactive virtual event explored important new ways in which publishers and industry leaders are supporting academic peer-reviewed research and the entire academic publishing ecosystem, especially in response to the COVID-19 global pandemic. You can now watch the seminar at your convenience, on demand through March 31, 2021 on the Wolters Kluwer virtual event platform. 


2020 Professional Development Series

Our debut series on the SSP OnDemand Library, the 2020 Professional Development Series offers presentations on current trends and issues in scholarly communications—from the impact of COVID-19 to diversity, equity, and inclusion in publishing–available at your convenience. New video presentations will be released each week; free materials and paid sessions can be accessed individually or as part of a group; all recordings may be accessed asynchronously, but registrants can also interact with presenters and fellow audience members during live screenings! Videos will be offered on the following topics: Business Models and Strategies, Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion, Editorial Innovations, Ethics and Standards, Global Trends, Research Perspectives. Featuring panels of leaders in their respective fields, this series is a must for anyone wishing to keep abreast of the latest developments in the industry.


LYRASIS Learning Library

SSP’s OnDemand Training collection now features courses from the LYRASIS Learning Library! Users can learn on their own schedule and access videos in the collection at their convenience. Topics range from leading a better webinar to improving communication skills.


SSP is a CAE Approved Provider. SSP programs designated with the CAE Approved icon meet the requirements for fulfilling the professional development requirements to earn or maintain the Certified Association Executive credential. CAE Credit is only issued for live screening events and you must be logged in to participate in the live chat/Q&A. Unfortunately ASAE does not allow us to issue credit for content items viewed asynchronously.
