Concurrent 3C: Measure for Measure: The Role of Metrics in Assessing Research Performance
We are moving towards a world where measurement predominates. The rise of article level metrics is just part of a much bigger picture of measuring research impact. There are many parties involved with evaluating scholarship, and all have their own needs and motivations – from funders through to institutions, and authors. This panel session will discuss the role of metrics in measuring research performance and the potential opportunities, threats, and ultimate impact on publishers.
