Publishing Strategy: To Partner or Not to Partner?

Seminar 3: Publishing Strategy: To Partner or not to Partner?

What do actual publishers do and why are third-party publishers still relevant partners for authors, editors, societies, funders, and librarians? Presenters will discuss the role that publishers play (positive and negative), what services third-party publishers provide that are most useful to societies, and for some, why societies may choose to remain as independent publishers. Arming attendees with eloquent, reasoned, and evidenced-based responses about the role of third-party publishers, this session will focus on a diverse set of approaches to communicating use cases to relevant stakeholder communities, as well as the publishing industry at large.
