Publisherspeak UK 2024, a scholarly publishing conclave sponsored by Kriyadocs, is set to take place on 21st May 2024 at Woburn House, London, embracing the same community-led ethos that defined its predecessor, Publisherspeak US 2023. Organized as an unconference-style event, Publisherspeak UK 2024 aims to unite publishing professionals and industry thought leaders in collaborative discourse to address the challenges faced by the industry today.
The event is designed to foster deep community interactions and provide a structured framework for attendees to explore solutions and incremental improvements. With a focus on practical, impactful takeaways, Publisherspeak UK 2024 promises to deliver an enriching experience for all participants.
Louise Russell, Director of Tutton Russell Consulting, will once again serve as the conference chair, following her tenure as the conference chair of Publisherspeak US 2023.
The keynote address will be delivered by Sholto David, a renowned biologist and research integrity advocate. Drawing from his extensive experience and insights, Dr. David will shed light on the pressing issues surrounding research integrity, offering invaluable perspectives on this timely topic.
Alex Miller, Founder and CEO of Forestreet, will host an interactive workshop focused on emerging technologies.
Publisherspeak UK 2024 will also facilitate an afternoon of unconference-style breakout sessions, where attendees will collaborate in groups to devise solutions for current issues in scholarly publishing (as identified by the Publisherspeak community). These sessions will be chaired by Sophia Anderton (BJU International), Emily Cockburn (Cambridge University Press), Joe Kelly (Microbiology Society), and Caroline Burley (Royal Society of Chemistry).
“We are thrilled to unveil Publisherspeak UK 2024, an event that epitomizes collaboration and innovation within the publishing industry,” said Ravi Venkataramani, CEO, Kriyadocs. “By bringing together key stakeholders and thought leaders, we aim to catalyse meaningful dialogue and drive positive change within our industry.”
“I am delighted to be chairing Publisherspeak UK 2024 and look forward to a practical, thought provoking, and energising event,” said Louise Russell, Director, Tutton Russell Consulting. “Publisherspeak offers something a little different – by utilising elements of the unconference format it allows for peer-to-peer discussion on topics that matter to the community, delivering actionable insights for attendees to take back to their organisations.”
