Did you know that institutional repositories take on new significance once a faculty adopts an open access policy? Did you know that librarians are key to the success of implementing these new policies? Did you know that publishers can play their part as well? Every institution is different in its approach to adopting open access policies. From providing centralized outreach to supporting compliance, librarians must be responsive to faculty and publisher concerns. Publishers too are key in educating authors and even facilitating such repository deposits. Panelists will discuss how these policies affect the workflow at their organizations.
This SSP Regional Programming Event is sponsored locally by Wiley. Light appetizers and beverages will be served before and after the lecture, giving participants a chance to network with the speakers and others in attendance.
Panelists:
Kyle Courtney, Copyright Advisor, Harvard University
Katharine Dunn, Scholarly Communications Librarian, MIT
Robert Boissy, Director, Institutional Marketing and Account Development, Springer US
Moderator:
Hillary Corbett, Director, Scholarly Communication and Digital Publishing, Northeastern
