SSP Get Involved! 2023-2024 Committee Information Session

Learn about the benefits of volunteering with SSP and the opportunities available with each of our committees!

Did you miss our info session? No problem! Watch SSP leadership discuss the vital role volunteers play in society activities, followed by a lightning round of introductions from our committee chairs. The “Get Involved!” webinar showcases many terrific opportunities for engaging in the SSP community and a huge network of industry professionals.

SSP is successful because of the active participation of dedicated volunteers. Serving on a committee or task force is a great way to expand your network, gain valuable leadership skills, and increase your personal and organizational visibility within the industry. To learn more about SSP’s active committees and task forces, visit our Committees page. Already know which committee you’d like to volunteer with? Let us know!

We have more than 250 members that volunteer their time to support the advancement of scholarly communications by serving on committees and task forces, on our Board of Directors, writing for SSP’s blog, The Scholarly Kitchen, acting as a mentor in our Fellowship and Mentorship programs, furthering our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility commitments, or developing our Core Values statement. SSP is proud to offer many resources developed and led by our enthusiastic volunteers, including the Annual Meeting program, the Professional Skills Map, the new Communities of Interest Network, the Early Career Development Podcast, and many others. In addition, our volunteers create regional opportunities for networking, collaboration, and professional development that help members stay engaged and motivated.

Apply by Friday, June 9 for consideration for the 2023-2024 term. The committee chair(s) for the committee(s) you indicated you would be willing to serve will be provided with your contact information at that time. All committee appointments (one-year terms, renewable) are approved by the President. To learn more about SSP’s active committees and task forces, visit our Committees page.
