SSP is successful because of the active participation of dedicated volunteers. Serving on a committee or task force is a great way to expand your network, gain valuable leadership skills, and increase your personal and organizational visibility within the industry. We have more than 250 members that volunteer their time to support the advancement of scholarly communications by serving on committees and task forces, on our Board of Directors, writing for SSP’s blog, The Scholarly Kitchen, acting as a mentor in our Fellowship and Mentorship programs, furthering our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility commitments, or developing our Core Values statement. SSP is proud to offer many resources developed and led by our enthusiastic volunteers, including the Annual Meeting program, the Professional Skills Map, the new Communities of Interest Network, the Early Career Development Podcast, and many others. In addition, our volunteers create regional opportunities for networking, collaboration, and professional development that help members stay engaged and motivated.
