American Meteorological Society
Boston, MA
The American Meteorological Society is located across from the Boston Common on Beacon Street. It is accessible from all subway lines, with Park Street being the closest. Parking is available at the Boston Common garage for a fee.
Join local members of the Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP) for a lively discussion about an important topic that underpins the scholarly publishing industry and answers the question, “What do I need to know about copyright?”. From editorial, production, sales, and technology, copyright is often an unspoken force that touches upon every piece of the publishing process. Join our panel of local experts to learn how to think differently about copyright and gain a deeper understanding of a mission-critical piece of our industry.
Whether an experienced professional or early career member, all attendees will benefit from learning about the following:
- What can I do to protect my scholarlywork?
- What do I need to know about Creative Commons and Open Access licenses?
- What questions do I need to ask about reuse?
- How do I recognize fair use?
- What questions am I not asking, but I need to?
The event will include plenty of networking time with fellow Boston-area publishing professionals. Drinks and refreshments will be served.
