American Journal Experts, Scholastica, and Research Square offer guide on author management for journal editors

February 9, 2018 – American Journal Experts (AJE), author services provider, has partnered with Scholastica and Research Square to offer a free training guide on author management for journal editors. This guide provides tips for communicating with authors, shares information on setting author guidelines, and recommends best practices for setting ethical policies for the journal.

“Being able to offer this resource to help journal editors work with authors is very exciting,” said Theresa Somerville, AJE’s Marketing Communications Manager. “It was a privilege to be able to work collaboratively with Scholastica and Research Square to create a resource that we know can improve policies and interactions for people.”

The guide also provides worksheets to help editors implement the suggestions more easily. The worksheets include a sample submission checklist that journals can use for authors, email templates to help with author communication, and a template for an ethics statement that journals may use.

“We’re thrilled we had the opportunity to produce the Guide to Managing Authors course with AJE and Research Square,” said Danielle Padula, who leads outreach and community development at Scholastica. “Supporting authors is such a vital part of running an academic journal, and so much of author support stems from clear communication. This course really covers primary ways for journals to improve their communication with authors and ensure that they’re providing necessary information and guidance throughout peer review and article production.”
