Application Window Open for SSP’s Competitive 2022 Mentorship Program

February 9, 2022 – The Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP) is now accepting applications for the first cohort of our 2022 Mentorship Program. This program is ideal for professionals at all career levels to develop new relationships, share experiences, and learn from others outside their organizations by connecting with a mentor.

Our Career Development Committee is seeking potential mentors and mentees to participate in the next wave of this rewarding program. The deadline to apply is March 4, 2022, and the mentorship will last for approximately six months.

Selected participants are matched with a mentor or mentee by the Career Development Committee and expected to meet at least once per month throughout the program. Mentors and mentees are also required to attend an online orientation and virtual discussion group. There is no cost to apply, but program participants (both mentors and mentees) must be SSP members.

This exciting initiative aims to connect members of SSP for professional development, information exchange, networking, personal growth, and career advancement. Register now for an informational webinar on February 23, at 11:00 am ET.

“SSP members at all career levels have realized how much they could benefit from having a mentor or being a mentor,” said Melanie Dolechek, Executive Director of SSP. “Our mentorship program is helping to shape the future leaders of scholarly communications through expansion of their professional competencies; cultivating a diverse and high-quality pool of candidates in the workforce.”

Visit our mentorship page for more information about program details, eligibility requirements, and how to apply.
