EDP Sciences to take on direct hosting and distribution of its journals, previously managed by Cambridge University Press

August 7, 2014 – Paris, France – EDP Sciences has announced that hosting and distribution of sixteen of its journals, previously managed by Cambridge University Press, will transition to EDP Sciences for direct management from 2015 onwards.

EDP Sciences is located in Paris and London, with a growing portfolio of scientific journals in the physical sciences, astronomy, mathematics, life and environmental sciences, materials and engineering, health. It also publishes professional magazines, conference proceedings and books, and has an expanding Open Access programme, delivered via EDP Open.

“We feel that we can offer our customers a better service by integrating these journals into our wider portfolio,” said Agnès Henri, Publishing Director at EDP Sciences. “We’ve been investing in our platform and innovating with technology; we’re also keen to build more direct relationships within our communities. It just makes sense for us to manage the hosting and distribution of all our journal – together in once place – so our customers have a seamless experience of accessing all the content that we provide.”

EDP Sciences will be working to the guidelines laid down by the Transfer Code of Practice, ensuring that journal content remains easily accessible by librarians and readers and to ensure that the transfer process occurs with minimum disruption.
