Join us for this year’s Get Involved Session – online!

Learn about the benefits of volunteering with SSP and the opportunities available with each of our committees, happening Monday, June 8, at 2 pm EDT. RSVP to receive meeting details!

SSP is successful because of the active participation of dedicated volunteers. Serving on a committee or task force is a great way to expand your network, gain valuable leadership skills, and increase your personal and organizational visibility within the industry.

Join us for a short presentation by SSP leadership about the vital role volunteers play in Society activities, followed by a lightning round of introductions from our committee chairs.

Apply by June 19, 2020, for consideration for the 2020-2021 term. Due to the cancellation of the 42nd Annual Meeting, committee appointments (one-year terms, renewable) will be made in early July. All committee member appointments are approved by the President.

We have more than 250 members that volunteer their time to support the advancement of scholarly communications by serving on committees, task forces, the Board of Directors, writing for SSP’s blog, The Scholarly Kitchen, or acting as a mentor to our Fellows and mentees. Many of the programs SSP offers were developed and are led by our enthusiastic member volunteers.

To learn more about SSP’s active committees and task forces, visit our Committees page. Members can log in to the SSP Member Center to review a detailed description of each committee’s charge in the SSP Organizational Guide.

Already know which committee you’d like to volunteer with? Let us know!
