June 24, 2015 – Hanover, PA – Sheridan’s powerful eCommerce publisher platform has been enhanced to accommodate single issue journal sales down to a single copy.
Sheridan Connect is a publisher branded PCI compliant eCommerce solution, giving publishers the tools to sell content to consumers. Publishers can now provide single issues of a journal title for sale as a physical copy from warehouse inventory or integrated print-on-demand. In addition, publishers can also offer special collections as physical books or electronic content. As more journal publications move to an online-only environment, these new journal eCommerce features give publishers the option to offer a print component to their membership.
The enhanced Sheridan Connect platform is accessible via a dedicated URL link and/or from purchase buttons already existing on the journal’s website. The eCommerce platform integrates directly with the Sheridan Electronic Warehouse for print file archiving and retrieval. This integration allows for efficient, automated print-on-demand. Sheridan hosts the site and manages the shopping cart experience as well as payment processing.
This platform allows for future program enhancements including coupon codes and discounts, electronic products such as ePub for journals, mobile compatibility, and content rental options.
