The agreement will continue to expand the global reach of optics and photonics researchers in Israel
March 7, 2022 – SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics, is pleased to announce a Read and Publish agreement with Israel’s Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
The agreement, which began on 1 January, adds unlimited, open-access publishing in SPIE journals to the SPIE Digital Library subscription. Qualifying authors may publish in SPIE journals with no article-processing fees. The SPIE Digital Library comprises more than 550,000 publications covering topical areas ranging from biomedical optics and neuroscience to physics and astronomy-related technology.
“We are thrilled to partner with the Hebrew University in Jerusalem,” noted SPIE International Sales and Subscriptions Manager Andy Wallis. “This partnership will give affiliated authors a direct path to open access and greater visibility for their work.”
“The Harman Science Library and the Library Authority of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem are excited about this Read and Publish deal with SPIE,” said Harman Science Library Director Osnat Levy. “They hope that this agreement and other agreements recently signed will enable their researchers to publish their articles fully Open Access without having to worry about high APCs, and thus enable immediate and long-term accessibility to all.”
