The Company of Biologists Appoint Library Information Service (LIS KOREA) as Exclusive Representative in South Korea

We are delighted to announce that we have signed an exclusive agreement with Library Information Service (LIS KOREA) to represent us in South Korea.

LIS KOREA has many years of experience of working with librarians in a range of settings as well as extensive knowledge of the library subscription and information services marketplaces. This new partnership provides us with opportunities to increase our visibility and to expand our subscriptions and Read & Publish initiative throughout South Korea.

Over 650 institutions in 41 countries are now participating in our Read & Publish Open Access (OA) initiative, and this is helping to drive significant growth in OA publishing in our leading peer-reviewed hybrid journals (Development, Journal of Cell Science, Journal of Experimental Biology) and our fully OA journals (Disease Models & Mechanisms and Biology Open).

Tony Kim, CEO at LIS KOREA, says:
“We are pleased to announce a new partnership with The Company of Biologists. We believe that the Read & Publish initiative in South Korea will improve access to five leading peer-reviewed journals and ensure that high-quality Open Access articles related to biological science/biology, are published without researchers paying Article Processing Charges (APCs).”

Sarah Logan, Regional Sales Manager at The Company of Biologists, says:
“I am thrilled to announce our new exclusive partnership with LIS KOREA for Read & Publish agreements and new subscriptions in South Korea. This partnership will enable us to better inform the Korean library and research community of our high-quality journals and the benefits of our Read & Publish initiative. LIS KOREA’s expertise and local knowledge will enable The Company of Biologists to reach new and existing customers more effectively to ensure that they have all the information they need to choose the best products and services for their library, and to provide them with the support they need to make the most of our journals and the publishing opportunities available via our Read & Publish initiative. I am impressed by the energy, drive and commitment that LIS Korea have already demonstrated, and I look forward to a long and successful partnership.”
