The Radiological Society of North America Launches Two Journal Apps, Developed by Sheridan

November 18, 2013Hunt Valley, MD Sheridan has created two full-text journal apps for The Radiological Society of North America (RSNA); one for Radiology, and the other for RadioGraphics. Each app accommodates both Apple and Android platforms.

Radiology is the world’s most-cited peer-reviewed publication in the field of radiology.  RadioGraphics is the only radiology journal dedicated to continuing education, awarding more than 827,000 CME certificates since 2000.

Members can access these apps in time for RSNA’s 99th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting, December 1 6, in Chicago, IL.

Features of note within these apps include access to article abstracts as well as full-text PDFs, new content push notifications, title and author search, article bookmarking, and article share via email, Twitter and Facebook.  High-resolution images and expanded table views are built-in, as is the ability to view in-article reference citations.  Both apps support advertising and sponsorship opportunities through an integrated ad mediation system.  The Radiology app also features streaming video content from RSNA’s YouTube channel, and both the RadioGraphics app and the Radiology app provide links to CME accreditation sites.

Jeremy T. Nielsen, Director, Publications, commented, “Sheridan’s collaborative approach to the app development process allowed RSNA to maintain the high standard of mobile content delivery while at the same time enabling innovation in ways that can best serve our members and subscribers.” “The new Radiology and RadioGraphics apps, supported by Sheridan’s mobile technology platform, will provide RSNA members and subscribers with a wide range of access to both journal and society content. We expect a significant uptake as existing users migrate to the new apps in advance of and during the Annual Meeting in Chicago, and we’ll be on hand to answer questions and provide support to RSNA and its members,” added Mike Hepp, Director of Technology Strategy at Dartmouth Journal Services.
