ASHP Chooses Sheridan’s Editorial, Composition, Print, and Online Hosting Services for Robust Book Program

News Summary (if available)

June 11, 2020 – Hanover, PA – ASHP (American Society of Health-System Pharmacists) has selected Sheridan PubFactory as online host provider for their book program, which encompasses a wide variety of clinical, professional development and management references and textbooks that serve as essential pharmacy practice resources. ASHP also named Sheridan as its provider of composition and editorial services as well as its print provider.

ASHP is the collective voice of pharmacists who serve as patient care providers in hospitals, health systems, ambulatory clinics, and other healthcare settings spanning the full spectrum of medication use.

ASHP first sought a comprehensive, full-service workflow through Sheridan Journal Services and single source print for its books through Sheridan’s print facilities in Michigan. The need expanded to build an online hosting platform through Sheridan PubFactory, achieving ASHP’s goal of partnering with a single provider for production and dissemination of their extensive book program, both in print and online. While Sheridan began managing ASHP’s composition, editorial services, and print production in January, the new hosting platform is scheduled to launch archival and new content this summer. ASHP expects to expand their book program output by growing their front list, and creating new products from existing ASHP content repositories.

“We are pleased to have editorial, composition, and print services underway with Sheridan and are excited about launching the next phase of our online presence through the PubFactory platform,” said Daniel J. Cobaugh, Pharm.D., ASHP Vice President of Publishing. “PubFactory will enable ASHP to provide cutting-edge reading experiences for purchasers of our internationally-recognized drug information, educational, and professional development content.”

Mike Hepp, VP and Division Sales Director, Sheridan Journal Services further commented: “The opportunity to provide ASHP with the full complement of Sheridan services allows us to deliver a range of benefits resulting from the seamless interaction and integration of our entire business. Our proven editorial, composition, and print services plus our innovative and mature online publishing platform will serve ASHP and its users well, and we’re excited and honored to add ASHP to the Sheridan family of customers.”

Sheridan is the only industry service provider that can guide and support publishers at any point during the content development and publication process, from manuscript acceptance to online publishing. The end-to-end combination of Sheridan publishing services, print, and online publishing via the PubFactory platform has also been adopted by other prestigious publishers such as the American Society of Nephrology, Journal of Neurosurgery Publishing Group, Harborside, and the American Society for Horticultural Science.
