We are excited to announce nominations are now open for our 2024 Emerging Leader Award, which will be presented at our 46th Annual Meeting in Boston, May 29–31.
This award recognizes an SSP member who began working in the scholarly communication field within approximately the last 1-8 years and has demonstrated leadership abilities on an SSP committee or task force. Any SSP member may submit a nomination packet suggesting an SSP Emerging Leader Award candidate. Self-nominations are accepted!
In addition to verifying the candidate’s eligibility, nominators are asked to write a short summary explaining why the nominee deserves the honor and source a recommendation from a mentor or supervisor of the nominee.
The winner will be judged on a demonstrated record of service and leadership within SSP, contributions to the field of scholarly communications with impacts that reach beyond benefiting one’s employer, and exceptional service and dedication to improving the field.

Established in February 2012, this award acknowledges the achievements of up-and-coming leaders in scholarly publishing who are demonstrating their potential through outstanding service and contribution.
