CCC Announces More Than One Million Works Now Available Through its Annual Copyright License for Curriculum & Instruction

48 Publishers Participating in the License

March 8, 2022 – CCC, a leader in advancing copyright, accelerating knowledge, and powering innovation, now offers more than one million works in its Annual Copyright License for Curriculum & Instruction (ACLCI).

The ACLCI addresses the diverse licensing needs of EdTech providers, core and supplemental curriculum developers, and custom publishing companies, as well as U.S. State Departments of Education and K-12 school districts. The license provides a collection of print and digital rights to reuse excerpts of high-quality content from a repertory of leading books, magazines, newspapers, and other works for use in organized educational activities such as curriculum and instructional materials, EdTech ELA applications, and online platforms such as learning management systems.

“In order to engage learners at every stage of the process, curriculum providers require a broad pool of content that reflects students’ lives and offers windows into other worlds,” said Roy Kaufman, Managing Director, Business Development and Government Relations, CCC. “With rights available for more than a million works, the ACLCI supports a broad range of content in the classroom.”

There are 48 publishers currently participating in the license, including leading book, magazine, and newspaper publishers, such as recently added Astra Publishing HouseThe Atlantic, Boy Scouts of America (Scouts Life), New Moon Girls MediaNewsweekScience News, and Smithsonian Books. More publishers are being added weekly.

CCC recently announced a partnership with CeMPro, the Reproduction Rights Organization (RRO) based in Mexico, to give educators and intermediaries access to reuse rights from tens of thousands of Spanish-language titles.

To help schools and providers in the academic market navigate the complex world of copyright compliance, CCC offers Copyright Essentials for K-12, an on-demand certificate course for professional development that helps raise awareness of copyright and content use within K-12 school districts in the U.S., education technology companies, curriculum developers, and custom publishers.
