Current Impact of COVID-19 on the SSP 42nd Annual Meeting

March 16, 2020 – Mt. Laurel, NJ – The Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP) is taking all developments concerning the coronavirus (COVID-19) seriously and will continue to closely monitor the situation. There are no plans to postpone or cancel the SSP 42nd Annual Meeting at this time. The Annual Meeting is currently outside of the 8-week window that the CDC recommends canceling events. We have updated our cancellation policy and added an FAQ to address questions regarding our current policies.

We are examining several possible scenarios in our contingency planning should the meeting not be conducted as originally planned. These include rescheduling the meeting for a later date and virtual participation by attendees and/or speakers. No decisions have been made, but we are monitoring the situation closely and will share updates as they are available.

We will continue to monitor the situation and will be in discussion with health authorities and the SSP Board of Directors as the meeting draws nearer. The health and safety of all our participants is our highest priority. Announcements regarding the meeting status or cancellation policy changes will be posted on this page. Email updates will be sent directly to registered attendees, speakers, exhibitors and sponsors. For more information, please review SSP’s Event Cancellation Policy and COVID-19 Impact FAQ.
